EcoLocate began as a personal initiative after seeing how poorly waste is managed in cities like Lagos, Nigeria. The goal is simple: to help individuals and communities take small, meaningful steps toward cleaner surroundings.

2 How You Can Use EcoLocate
EcoLocate automatically detects your location to show nearby recycling centers and waste collection points around you. You don’t have to search manually but you can still use the search feature to explore other areas if you wish.
- Allow location access to find recycling and waste centers near you
- View or submit reports on waste spots in your community
Please Don’t:
- Submit false or misleading reports
- Share private or personal details about others
- Use the platform for spam or harmful activities
EcoLocate is built for constructive, community-driven environmental action.
3 Location & Map Data
EcoLocate primarily works through location access. When you grant permission, the app uses your current location to display nearby recycling centers and reported waste sites.
Your location is used only while the app is open and is not stored, shared, or linked to any personal information. You can also manually explore other areas using the search feature.
The map data is provided by public sources like OpenStreetMap and may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate.
4 No Accounts or Personal Data
EcoLocate does not require login, signup, or personal details of any kind. No names, emails, or personal data are collected or stored.
